Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, a jewellery shop in Surat is selling gold rakhis with faces of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on it. It is not just the former Gujarat Chief Minister who is gracing rakhis this time, but also Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani. While rakhis are simply a colourful thread that sisters tie on their brother's wrist on Raksha Bandhan, some people customise it. This year Raksha Bandhan falls on August 26.

Gold rakhis are also quite popular and sisters happily splurge in it. However, gold rakhis with faces of politicians are quite a new trend. ANI quoted a customer a saying, "By tying this Narendra Modi rakhi I would bless my brother to do something great like PM Modi." Raksha Bandhan 2018 Date & Time: Purnima Tithi, Puja Vidhi & Auspicious Muhurat to Tie Rakhi This Year
