The royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19 was a grand event which saw audiences from across the world. In between the fanfare, a German company courted controversy for posting a cartoon image on social media to look like Meghan Markle dressed in a white bridal gown. The picture posted on the day of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding portrayed the bride as a marshmallow covered with chocolate on the top.

Super Dickmann's shared the picture with the caption, "What are you looking at? Wouldn't you also want to be Meghan today?" Soon the tweet was flooded with comments referring to it as "racist".

The picture was quick to viral on social media and the company came under pressure. Following which the company took to Facebook saying, "A big pardon! The world of Super Dickmann's is colourful and diverse and far from racist thoughts." While the post has been deleted, the images were widely circulated on social media.

Here is the post that received backlash:

According to BBC, a company's spokesperson called the post "stupid and embarrassing". German broadcaster ZDF had also come under the fire online and was accused of racism after they referred to Meghan Markle as 'exotic' multiple times. They also said the Queen was 'turning a blind eye to Meghan' and that the gospel singers "sang beautifully black".
