Gautam Gambhir, who recently retired from all forms of cricket, took a jibe at the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on the eve of Christmas. Gambhir, who is an active participant of raising social causes, took Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founder to cleaners, on Tuesday, over the rising pollution levels and low visibility in the capital city.

The former Indian cricketer took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to express his concern about the deteriorating air quality. Gautam Gambhir said, “Sir ji, ‘आप’ आज्ञा दे तो मैं आऊँ?.........वैसे, कम से कम Christmas Tree ही लगवा दीजिए sir। @ArvindKejriwal @drharshvardhan @CPCB_OFFICIAL #delhipollution #pollutionindelhi.” Delhi Court Issues Bailable Warrant Against Gautam Gambhir; Former Cricketer Presents his Side on Twitter.

The text roughly translates to, “Sir, can I come with your (AAP) permission (in Delhi)? However, plant some Christmas trees, at the least.” Gambhir posted this tweet with a Santa Claus, who is seen wearing an air-filter mask and carrying Christmas gifts.

Here’s what Gautam Gambhir tweeted:

On December 24, Delhi witnessed its coldest December temperature in last 12 years, with the mercury recorded at 3.7 degree Celsius. As per the MET department, the second-lowest temperature ever recorded, in Delhi, in the last 12 years was 3.9 degree Celsius. Coldwave Grips Delhi: At 3.7 Degrees Celsius, Records Coldest Day in December in 12 Years.

With the temperature falling at an incredible speed, and there seems to be no immediate solution to the rising pollution levels in the air, the people in Delhi are the worst affected in the country.
