The entire country celebrated the festival of Janmashtami and Dahi Handi with much enthusiasm. While the Northern States bring in the birth of Lord Krishna with great enjoyment, Maharashtra sees the celebration of Dahi Handi, which is the tradition of making human pyramids to break a pot filled with curd and butter. Lord Krishna or Kanha as he was fondly called was known to love these two items and often chased around to have them. The tradition continues in the sport. While several cities saw some grand organisations of Dahi Handi, even locals weren't behind. And while some groups put across flawless human pyramids, there have been some funny videos as well. A lot of Govindas were injured in the festivities and one unfortunate boy lost his life. But overall the zeal of the celebrations continued, with a lot of youngsters organising the festival in their societies.
