You type ‘Potholes’ on google search box and it will end up showing images mostly of Indian road surface with failures. Let’s admit it! Our roads are exclusively famous for that. But Potholes are found around the world creating annoyance among the citizens. In every country people are struggling and revolting against bad roads in unique manners. While we have RJ Malishka’s pothole rap in a dig against Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) inability to fix potholes over the city; there are many out there raising their voice against it. Tired of getting it fixed folks at Brussels, Toronto and UK have found an exceptional, silent and beautiful way to protest against them by giving it a floral touch. Yes, they are using potholes to plant flowers and Twitterati cannot stop sharing the gorgeous pictures.
The cities have been trying very hard to remedy the problem. Flower-filled potholes have been spotted and the mind behind the pothole gardening in Brussels says that the fresh flowers are a sign of protest against the poor state of the city’s roads. So, in order to send a strong message to the government; residents came down with pretty flowers, soil and watering can to make the pot holes a beautiful sight instead. Here are the pictures of the flower-filled potholes shared by users on Twitter!
Healthy and full grown Tulips at Toronto in honour of Mother's Day!
There are many ways to patch a pothole but this one on the Toronto Islands, festooned in honour of Mother’s Day , is certainly a good reflection of the spirit of the Wards and Algonquin Island residents. (Traffic is restricted in the area and the tulips don’t pose a road hazard.) pic.twitter.com/Rcf7h4Zqcd

Another fresh plant in Brussels!
#Brussels is full of potholes, now a #guerrillagardener took action and started to plant flowers in them :-) A brilliant response to the lack of action from the city. When I walk around I’m always thinking it must be a horrible to get around here, if you are not fully mobile. pic.twitter.com/mL2GKx1p8j

Isn’t it a beautiful and most peaceful way to protest? Pedestrians, bicycles, people with their cars and everyone is annoyed all over the world with these potholes. Instead of getting infuriated at the digs, it is better to walk by the flowers. Reportedly very few have been fixed but there are a lot more. And we hope someday the potholes will be sorted. Until then, big thumbs up to the flowery initiative!
