Florida Man Without Arms Stabbed a Tourist Using a Pair of Scissors, Arrested by Police
The incident occurred on Monday when Chicago resident Cesar Coronado and a female friend stopped in the South Beach area to ask Crenshaw for directions.
A 46-year-old homeless man with no arms was arrested in Miami for stabbing another man with a pair of scissors using his feet. 22-year-old Cesar Coronado, a tourist from Chicago, was stabbed by Jonathan Crenshaw just after midnight early Tuesday. Crenshaw is a popular fixture in the area, known for painting on canvases along a trendy spot in South Beach. He doesn’t have any arms, it’s not clear why, according Miami Herald reports.
The incident occurred on Monday when Chicago resident Cesar Coronado and a female friend stopped in the South Beach area to ask Crenshaw for directions. Crenshaw then allegedly pulled out a pair of scissors, stabbed Coronado and left the scene. “I’m not from here and this is not what I came for. I came for a vacation,” Coronado told NBC 6. “I just said ‘do you know where this is?’ but as soon I talked, the only thing he reacted was he just cut me.” Coronado was found bleeding from his left arm and was admitted to a local hospital.
Crenshaw was detained near the attack in a shopping and tourist area near South Beach. He told a police officer that the stabbing happened in self-defence. Crenshaw said he was lying down when Coronado approached and punched him, as per police reports. Police further added that there were no indications that Crenshaw was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
Crenshaw has been charged with one count of aggravated battery, a second-degree felony, police said. He was booked into jail where he remained held on 7,500 dollars bond. He also has an extensive criminal past, including battery of law enforcement officers, according to the Miami Beach Police Department. So far, there has been no comments from his court-appointed attorney Devon Frampton.
