New Delhi, May 25: After the results for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 were declared, a video has gone viral on social media claiming a millionaire Indian man celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s victory in the parliamentary polls by throwing $100,000 bills in the air in New York. In the video, a man was seen throwing dollars in the air in Manhattan on 47th street. People were also seen rushing to grab the notes. The 47 street area is known for diamond wholesale. The video was also shared by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader RP Singh and Author Ashwani Mahajan. Singh tweeted, “Happened today on 47 street ( Diamond Market) New York $100,000 given away.👇🏼👇🏼in ref to Modi victory .. see how this millionaire Indian doing ..” Narendra Modi to Take Oath as PM for Second Term On May 30.

Apart from Twitter, the video was also shared multiple times on Facebook. However, the claims made in the video are wrong. The man in the video is not an Indian, but can be identified as African American rapper and musical artist TheGod Joe Kush. The rapper posted a video of the same incident on his Facebook page on May 16, however, from a different angle. In the original video, he was seen throwing $5 bills in the air and not as part of a “money shower” tour, and not $100 bills. Joe Kush also posted a similar video on May 4 from which was shot in Nevada.
