New Delhi, March 3: The government on Wednesday warned people to watch out for scam calls from fraudsters pretending to be representatives of 'Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). The scamsters are offering fake employment opportunities, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said. "Some unscrupulous tele-callers posing as representatives of 'Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana' are offering false employment opportunities," PIB Fact Check handle tweeted, adding that "this is an act of miscreants." It also advised citizens to not fall prey to such fraudulent activities.

PMKVY is a skill development initiative scheme of the government for the recognition and standardisation of skills. The aim of this scheme is to encourage aptitude towards employable skills.
Meanwhile, the government launched the third phase of PMKVY on January 15 to train eight lakh youngsters across the country with an outlay of Rs 948.90 crore.
