Through Google reverse image search, the viral video was found uploaded on a YouTube channel on July 18, 2024, with a title suggesting it depicts an anti-quota protest in Bangladesh. The video anchor states that BCL workers and activists were thrown off a six-story building amid the ongoing protests.

A similar video was uploaded on RTV's official YouTube channel. The report indicated that amidst the protests, Chhatra League and Jubo League activists were thrown from the building while trying to climb it for self-defence. Also, an article published on July 18, 2024, detailed the condition of six BCL workers critically injured after being thrown from the building during a clash with students agitating for quota reform in Chittagong. The injured were being treated in intensive care units and hospitals in Chittagong.
