Moreover, Trump's claim that it took 10 years to find Saeed left people stumped. Saeed has been roaming around freely in Pakistan and even floated Milli Muslim League to contest the general election and had fielded more than 200 candidates. He had also organised an anti-India rally in February this year. Many on Twitter called out Trump for his "ignorance". "He was organising rallies, roaming around freely. He even challenged the US to catch him in a mass rally after the US declared bounty. He was not “found” today. He is just shifting from his own home to a safe gvt guest house.Get better informed and don’t get fooled by Pak, AGAIN (sic)," a Twitter user wrote.
"You are so ignorant bro. Finding him was never an issue. He operated freely and was highly visible. even running for election. He has been arrested and released many times over. You should fire whoever gave you the wrong information. Or was it Fox and Friends?" another user wrote.

The US committee for foreign affairs also pointed out to Trump that Saeed was living freely in Pakistan. FYI Pakistan wasn't searching for him for 10 years. He’s been living freely, and was arrested and released in: December 2001, May 2002, October 2002, August 2006 (twice), December 2008, September 2009, January 2017," read a tweet by House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Hafiz Saeed's re-arrest came ahead of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's meeting with Trump. India termed Saeed's arrest another drama by Pakistan. "This is not the first time that Hafiz Saeed has been arrested or detained. This drama has taken place at least eight times since 2001. The question is whether this time it would be more than a cosmetic exercise and whether Saeed will be tried and sentenced for his terrorist activities," India's Ministry of External Affairs said.
