The Telangana government will soon inaugurate a pet park which is the first in the country. Located near Radisson Hotel in Gachibowli the park is spread across 1.3 acres of land. The park has a play area, training and play equipment, an amphitheatre for dogs. For the pet parents, there are benches shaped like bones. The park which is certified by the Kennel Club of India is the first in the country to have facilities that of international standards for pets. The are which was a dump yard was converted to a pet park at Rs 1.3 crore.

The dog park has space for people with disabilities and their dog helpers to exercise. Sharing pictures of the park, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, son of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made the announcement on Twitter saying, "The first park in India developed to international standards for pets and pet parents has been certified by the Kennel Club of India."

The News Minute quoted Rajendra Kumar, an official with the Urban Biodiversity Wing of the GHMC as saying, "Pet parks are common in foreign countries, but in India, we do not have any such facility and pets are usually not allowed into regular parks. We built the park on a dump yard that was lying barren and the entire set up took around 6 months to build. There is an entry ticket fee for both dogs and visitors to the park." The park also has a dog training centre where professionals would train the pets. Dog splash pool, dog play area, para-vet clinic are all part of the park.
