Islamabad, July 28: A ghastly video from Pakistan is going viral which shows a dog wrapped in the flag of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) - the party which won the general elections - being shot dead.

The location where the clip is shot could not be confirmed. The 45-second footage shows two men, speaking in regional dialect, firing a couple of shots on a white dog till it falls unconscious and subsequently trembles to death.

Here is the video of the dog being shot dead going viral on social media:

Earlier on Sunday, an animal rights' NGO Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation (ACF) reported about the abuse of a donkey at a political rally of PTI in Faisalabad. Supporters of the party inscribed names of rival parties on the donkey and began pelting it with stones.

ACF workers who reached the spot found the donkey bleeding with his skull almost exposed. The left-eye of the donkey was also gouged out by the hooligans.

Reacting to the dog shooting video, ACF issued a statement saying, "Another day, another story of abuse. We do not know if it was related to anything political…all we know is that it is unimaginably horrific abuse at the hands of our people."

The PTI also issued a statement condemning both the incidents of animal abuse. The party appealed its supporters to refrain from such hooliganism.

"Whether it is PTI supporters who beat up a donkey or Imran Khan opponents who did the same to a dog…. this reveals a vile degeneration in our basic mindset of humanity. This kind of cruelty has to stop across the board," the party posted on Twitter.
