Remember the romantic-comedy movie Badrinath Ki Dulhania, starring actress Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, released last year? To refresh your memory, Alia in the movie dreamt to become an air hostess and who helped her achieve her dreams? It was Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training. Taking forward the thought, Frankfinn has recently got on board Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt to endorse their product. She is also seen appearing in the brand's latest television commercial.
In a statement recently released, Alia Bhatt said, "While preparing for my role in 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania', I experienced first hand the passion and dedication with which Frankfinn instructors conduct the training programme. It's the perfect platform for youngsters who are looking to build a successful career in the aviation industry."

Story Line
The storyline of the television commercial revolves around the kind of an envious life Alia Bhatt leads. From not bothering about price tags to roaming all around the world, which involves having lunch in Italy to dinner at Shanghai. The story also highlights how people get inspired by her. In the end, it is revealed that to lead a lifestyle like Alia; it is not necessary to be Alia Bhatt. You can enjoy Alia Bhatt like lifestyle by becoming an air hostess, and Frankfinn will help you achieve it? Like really?
Brand Connect?
While no doubt the brand feels that Alia is a perfect fit for the brand because she is bold and beautiful. Also as quoted in the brand statement, K.S. Kohli, Chairman, Frankfinn Aviation Services Pvt Ltd said: "We are thrilled about this partnership since we sought a popular personality harbouring similar vision and values as Frankfinn."
The idea of taking forward the core of a popular movie and using it in a commercial is a smart move because Alia does have a huge fan following. But the entire story plot of the ad, revolved around how every girl wants to lead a life like Alia and not on what the institute specialises in-like providing vocational training to aspirants for jobs of air hostesses, flight stewards, ground hostesses, air ticketing executives in airlines and guest relation executives, front office executives in hotels, travel industry and customer service industries.
Verdict
The ad according to me falls flat and misses the bus because not every flying aspirant wants to lead a life like Alia Bhatt. The ad surely could have been much better, and looked way real, had it not gone overboard with the aura around Alia Bhatt's life!
