Doctors at NIMS Hyderabad Leave Scissor in a Woman's Abdomen
The medical team is reported to have removed it after operation. The patient is stable now, said a senior doctor. An internal committee has been set up to investigate the matter.
Hyderabad, February 9: A man filed a complaint against doctors of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) for leaving a scissor in his wife's abdomen during surgery. Vijay Kumar, ACP Panjagutta, said that a case has been registered against the team of doctors who performed the surgery and that a probe is on in the case.
Dr Manohar, Director NIMS said that the patient complained of pain in her abdomen and that she had undergone a hernia surgery on Nov 2.
But on Saturday, an artery forcep was found in her abdomen after tests.

Last year, a woman patient at Sir Sunderlal Hospital of Varanasi's Banaras Hindu University (BHU) had accused a lady doctor of leaving syringes inside her body while she underwent an operation for surgical sterilisation in 2017. After medical reports, the charges proved to be true.
