Disney Star Alyson Stoner Reveals About Sexual Identity of Liking Women in a Heartfelt Essay

Actress Alyson Stoner was seen in series like Cheaper By The Dozen and Step Up, along with Disney Channel series like The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and even That’s So Raven. Not just an actress, she is also a good singer, dancer and model. Best known for her Disney's series, the actress recently opened up about her embracing the sexual identity of liking women in an essay to Teen Vogue. She spoke about the initial doubts, suppression to the eventual acceptance of her liking the same sex.

In the essay, she wrote, “I, Alyson, am attracted to men, women, and people who identify in other ways. I can love people of every gender identity and expression. It is the soul that captivates me." Her latest song "When It's Right" is also a dedication of her feelings when she fell in love with a woman for the first time. She talks about that one relationship which opened her prospect towards her own sexuality.

The actress and singer said that her new song, “When It’s Right,” is an ode to what it felt like to fall in love with a woman for the first time. Throughout the letter, Stoner talks about her relationship and how she fell in love, her attraction, her first kiss and how she had never felt the same way about guys before. To quote her, "Our bond didn’t feel quite sisterly or platonic. Flashes of her smile progressed to flashes of her wavy hair followed by the curve of her hips through her straight-leg pants. I realized I had never fantasized about a guy this way, nor really ever felt comfortable dating guys." The relationship turned intimate and Stoner was only falling more and more in love with this woman.

Moreover, she had a larger responsibility since she was a public figure, there was a possibility that her career could get ruined, But towards the end of it she also asks for people to understand the beauty of falling in pursuit of love. She beautifully penned it down, "If you’re questioning or struggling with your sexuality, gender identity, or anything else, know that I and so many who’ve gone before us are with you. Whatever your identity, you are lovable and wonderful and enough."
