In India, where the women are already fighting for equal rights, injustice and the rape culture, a shocking video of an aunty from Delhi has surpassed all levels of narrow-minded idiocy that the country is dealing with. In a viral video posted by one of the girls who was a victim of harassment by this woman named Shivani Gupta, the aunty can be heard making ridiculously sexist comments that can hang any Indian's head in shame. The middle-aged woman tells a group of young women in Delhi that that women who wear "short clothes" should be raped by men. She reportedly addressed seven men at a restaurant in Delhi to rape girls who were in 'inappropriate clothes,' as per her narrow mentality. She can be heard saying in the video: "You're recording no? Hello guys. These ladies want to wear short to short dresses to encourage all to see them. All these ladies wear short dresses or get naked to [get] raped." The practice of blaming women and their clothing for the kind of misbehaviour they are subject to, is not new but this middle-aged woman torturing the young girls in public by asking men to rape them because they were wearing "inappropriate clothes" is a shockingly shameful territory that the young girls had to go through. Coming from a woman herself makes it even worse.
Shivani writes in her caption: "Today my friends and I were harassed by a woman at a restaurant for me wearing a short dress. This middle-aged woman you’ll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion."
Video of the middle-aged woman confessing that women in short dress should get raped:
Even after the middle-aged sexist woman was given a chance to apologise to the woman out there, she didn't budge from her misogynistic opinion. Shivani further said in her caption: " For speaking up against her primitive mindset. Our instinct was turn away from the drama but supported by our colleagues, we took her on at a shopping centre, nearby. We gave her the chance to apologise, to no avail, of course. Nothing moved the needle for her, not even another woman who learned the story on the spot and implored the ghastly woman to apologise."
The video has already been watched for about 347,519 times right now and people are calling the sexist woman out for her actions.
