Wellington, October 25: In a bizarre case, an elderly couple was deceived by their daughters for months when they were told that their son "was stabbed to death" and they were not wanted at their son's funeral. A man named Callum narrated the shocking story of how his sisters deceived his parents, and convinced them that he had been dead for six months. The listeners and the hosts on New Zealand’s ZM Radio show were dumfounded when Callum revealed one of the craziest stories ever heard before.
It all began when the hosts Carl Fletcher, Vaughan Smith and Hayley Sproull began an impromptu segment, encouraging listeners to share their experiences of being mistakenly declared as dead. Callum, one of the callers swept the show when he unravelled why his parents had broken all ties with his sisters after they had played a prank on the poor parents and made them believe he had been dead for six months. He told that his sisters had a tiff with his parents and they were really not getting along. "I was living in Wellington while they were in Christchurch. My older sister actually called my parents up and told them that I had died", Callum revealed. He disclosed that his sisters had persuaded their mum and dad that Calum's ex-girlfriend's parents had arranged the funeral and they didn't want them there. The story got crazier when he said that his sisters had actually told his parents that he was stabbed to death. On being questioned on why his parents accepted the news and how the farce went on for six months, Callum responded that his parents had called everyone they knew to enquire about him and he was also sort of got busy with his life and work. After six months he realised that he hadn't heard from his parents for nearly half a year and decided to ring them up. "I gave them a call up and my mum and dad are like, 'You're alive?' My mum was absolutely in tears and my dad was just kind of gobsmacked - he was just like 'what the f**k is going on?" Callum's parents are no longer in talking terms with his sisters after the incident.
