A Danish photographer has stirred outrage in Egypt after images of having sex on top of Great Pyramid of Giza went viral on social media. Andreas Hvid posted the explicit snap on his website which was also featured in a video he posted on YouTube. The picture shows him and an unidentified woman in a sexual position at the top of Great Pyramid. Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities said on Saturday the incident ‘violates public morality’ and has requested the Attorney General to launch an investigation. Wedding Photographer and Model Has Sex With Guest and Urinates Near Tree at Reception Venue, Arrested.

The video which was apparently taken down was reposted on Hvid’s page on Sunday. As reported in Daily Mail, the video shows Hvid and the woman climbing to the top of the 4,500-year-old pyramid and looking out over Cairo. Climbing on the pyramids is forbidden as is being at the sight after hours. In the video’s description box, Hvid said he and the woman climbed the pyramid late last month. He wrote: “In late November 2018, a friend and I climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza.”

He also wrote: “Fearing to be spotted by the many guards, I did not film the several hours of sneaking around at the Giza Plateau, which lead up to the climb.” Egypt, a Muslim dominant country regards the pyramids of Giza as among its most important monuments. Climbing them above a certain level is forbidden and the entire site is closed to the public after 5 pm and patrolled by officers. Hvid has not been arrested or fined yet.
