Computer game obsessions are serious and some deadly online games have even claimed lives. A 15-year-old boy from Russia was so frustrated after a losing a game that he killed himself. The boy beheaded himself with a chainsaw as he could not handle the failure. Pavel Mateev, 15 went into the yard and as reports state, "switched on a chainsaw and sawed off his own head." The locals informed that he was heavily addicted. State media from Russian channel said, "A teenager from Tomsk region committed suicide after he lost a computer game." It is still not unclear which game he was playing but his level of addiction was such that his nerves would get numb. 'Fire Challenge' on Internet Leaves 12-Year-Old Girl With Severe Burns! The local Russian Investigative Committee informed they have lodged a criminal case regarding incitement to suicide. There are several cases of such death groups which in a way incite children and teens to commit suicide. These groups were linked with online games. The police will investigate if Pavel's suicide too was linked to any of such death groups. A Russian anti-cybercrime warned that there were 1,339 online suicide groups having an audience of more than 12,000 users.

The Blue Whale was one such game where the player was given self-inflicting tasks one after another to go to the next levels and the final level was to commit suicide. Another game that has been resulting in children committing suicide is the Momo Challenge. With the easy access to the internet and such games, it becomes difficult to keep a tab on what children are actually surfing or playing. To behead oneself is a far violent action to be taken by a 15-year-old child. Game addiction is a very serious problem that needs to be paid attention to.
