Gone are the days when Coca-Cola was just a drink, the age-old brand is coming up with alcoholic beverages first in its 125-year-old history! May they decided on the new version after understanding the trouble people had mixing Jack and Coke from two separate bottles. So, now everything's in a bottle, just open and sip! However, you may have to go to Japan to taste it. Yeah, the alcoholic drink is going to be available only in Japan for now.

This is not the first time Coca-Cola is experimenting with their tastes and ingredients in Japan. They have had neat versions of the drink including teas and coffees in the country. The alcoholic one is made similar to a Japanese drink called 'Chu-Hi' that contains 3-8 percent has alcohol content.

According to a Times of India report, Coca-Cola Japan president Jorge Garduno said,  "This is a canned drink that includes alcohol; traditionally, it is made with a distilled beverage called shochu and sparkling water, plus some flavoring." Chu-Hi drinks come in multiple flavors including grapes, strawberry, white peach, and kiwi and shochu is also replaced with vodka.

While people who are health conscious distance themselves from Coca-Cola, this seems to be a way to get into the  Chu-Hi market. It is considered as an alternative to beer and is quite popular among people who stay away from hard drinks.

Garduno said that Coca-Cola will not release the product elsewhere in the world as the drink is a niche to Japan and its culture. Non-cola products Coca-Cola has in the country include flavoured vitamin water, sports drink, Honest tea and Dasani bottled water.
