We come across several reports of snakes being rescued from residential areas or the reptiles slithering into unlikely places. But in Odisha, a cobra got stuck in a beer can! It is not clear how, but the snake was unable to escape after its head got stuck the can. The incident took place in forest range of Baripada, Mayurbhanj in Odisha. Locals helped rescue the stuck cobra and then released it into the wild. A few pictures of the snake rescue video show the place littered with a lot of junk. The cobra was probably in search of food and got stuck in the beer can mistaking it for a burrow. Some locals found the struggling snake and helped rescue it using a stick. It was then released into the wild.

This particular incident reminds us of the time when a woman in Florida helped a snake in similar distress. The black racer snake's head was stuck in a beer can and although she was scared, she managed to rescue it with her bare hands.

Odisha has a lot of forest cover around, so there are many reports of dangerous snakes being found here. In one of the cases, last year, a daily worker had found more than 100 hatchings of baby cobras in his house. There was a mound full of snakes and even the NGO volunteers had a tough time rescuing all of them.
