Chennai Police Officer Adopts Boy Whose Mother's Murder Case He Was Investigating

M. Balamurugan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ayanavaram has adopted a 12-year-old boy who was orphaned after his mother's murder that took place a week ago.

A policeman's job is very tough and requires being tough on duty. But a police officer in Chennai has come forward to show his caring side and it is really heart-warming. M. Balamurugan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ayanavaram has adopted a 12-year-old boy who was orphaned after his mother's murder that took place a week ago. Parimala, 33-year-old was living alone in Nammalvarpet after her husband left her. Her son, Karthik was studying at boarding school in Mylapore. Parimala was murdered at the end of last month by a boy living in the same building where she was living. M. Balamurugan was investigating the case when he found out about her 12-year-old son. The boy was in the police station, clueless about what had happened to his mother. He went to the police station and consoled the boy. The boy got a new family to call his own in the police officer literally. Mr Balamurugan, a father of two children, a daughter and son, discussed with his wife and decided to adopt Karthik into their family. Without further delay, he gave an undertaking in Karthik's school as his guardian. "The object of my gesture was that the boy should not be misled and not indulge in a tit-for-tat act. We should ensure the future of boy and help him lead a good life in society," Mr Balamurugan was quoted to a report in The Hindu. Very soon, he would also adopt the boy officially through the legal process. Mr Balamurugan's gesture is really heart-warming and gives a positive message of humanitarianism.
