Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’, had its another crazy-fan moment this time at a (National Basketball Association) NBA match in the United States. The movie-- starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh had witnessed great opening in both India and across the globe. However, the movie's much-acclaimed song ‘Ghoomar’ featuring Shahid and Deepika became a massive hit.
At an NBA match between Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat on Sunday, a bunch of cheerleaders performed on the ‘Ghoomar’ song. The video went viral in no time as the cheerleaders were seen shaking their legs and grooving to the song. Much to the delight of the fans present in the arena, the cheerleaders had decked themselves up in Indian traditional attires.
The ‘Ghoomar’ video was posted on the official Facebook page of NBA. It is well known that NBA is trying to promote the sport in India in an aggressive manner and this one-of act has struck the right chord with the audience.

The ‘Ghoomar’ song drew a lot of controversies when it was initially released. Many people expressed their displeasure and protested against the sequence in the song, which showed Deepika Padukone’s bare midriff. The controversy was later doused as it was covered with the help of computer-generated imagery (CGI).
