Chandrashekhar Azad, the fearless freedom fighter who fought for the country and left a strong legacy of courage didn't think twice before giving his life for the nation. Today 27th of February, the nations mourns the death of the brave Chandrashekhar Azad who died at Alfred Park in Allahabad on 27 February 1931. His death will never be forgotten when after a lengthy shootout, the man held true to his pledge to never be captured alive; he shot himself dead with his last bullet. In a life of just 24 years, Azad etched his name on the hearts of people in India. The Colt pistol of Chandra Shekhar Azad is displayed at the Allahabad Museum. The revolutionary leader was shaken by the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919 in which the Army killed hundreds of civilians. He soon decided to participate in the Mahatma Gandhi-led Non-co-operation Movement in 1920 at the age of just 15 years old then.
