The tweet takes reference from Somvati Mahawar's video 'Hello friends, Chai Pi Lo!' that had gone viral on the internet. The woman's video asking people if they have had tea while drinking from a glass was the subject of memes and jokes on social media.
And Mumbai Police couldn't let go off something so popular among internet users. Urging people to wear helmets while driving, Mumbai Police used Mahavar's way of reaching out to people on the internet. They tweeted saying, "Hello Fraaands! Helmet pehan lo... to have a Safe-Tea at home! #RoadSafeTEA." They have also edited the part where she says "Chai Pi Lo" to "Helmet pehen lo".
