A car dangling upside down from a cable on the Leaside Bridge has left the Toronto police puzzled. While it looks like a mix of some art project and a prank, nothing has been confirmed yet. A burned out blue sedan was spotted during the rush-traffic hour on Wednesday morning, and all of the city's municipal administration arrived on the spot to take note. Major emergency service responses including the police, firefighters and paramedics showed up at the scene.
The car had no engine, licence plate or passenger and the area was cordoned off by a yellow tape even before the police arrived. Sounds like a mystery novel, right? While the city police at first said it was a prop for a movie shot, but later retracted the statement saying no such permission was granted. Police officials said it floated over a grassy area and held no danger to public safety.
Here are the pictures of the car:

Is there an engineering school nearby? Seems like the sort of stuff those students would get up to.

The car was later successfully brought down by Toronto's fire department. Meanwhile, Twitter was abuzz with office goers who spotted the car and took to social media asking about it. People came up with bizarre theories to how the car may have ended up on the spot. Most speculated it to be a prank played by university students.
Police officials are now investigating to find out how the car ended up mid-air. According to CBC, Const. Victor Kwong called 911 during his morning commute about the car after which police arrived at the scene.
