Pornographic content has become highly accessible with the internet having its reach far and wide. However, the same pose risk to children or minors who also use the internet largely. The British government who have been trying to tackle this issue approved the Digital Economy Act 2017 which has strict rules regarding access to porn sites. After the law comes into effect later this year, regulators have said that users will have purchase 'porn passes' from their local newsstand to verify their age to watch 'XXX' adult websites.

Those who do not comply with the rules will be blocked by internet service providers and would face fines of up to $350,000. The implementation of those rules have been delayed as the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) needs more time to draft its strict guidelines. The guidelines will require approval from Parliament before it becomes a rule.

These porn passes will have a 16 digit code which users can enter to access pornographic or X-rated websites to verify their age. The passes are expected to cost $14 and which children would be able to get access to.

The store owner will have to personally ensure the person buying a porn pass is above 18 years of age. In order to confirm the customers are adults, driving license, passport or other government approved authorisation can be checked. Also, customers do not have worry about giving away their personal details as there is no data collection of any kind. No private details of any kind will be revealed will buying 'porn access pass'.
