Being a bridesmaid feels like a super exciting honour. Even if you have been a bridesmaid a dozen times, it is still lovely to have someone in your life who would ask you to stand by their side on the momentous day. Let us admit, we practically daydream about what kind of dress we are going to wear, a unique style and also spend time figuring out fun and accurate wedding hashtag for the bride. After so many plans and to-do list, it would not be less than a nightmare if your bestie, bride-to-be takes that bridesmaid honour away! Yes, a similar incident happened to Courtney Duffy whose tweet is going viral after being dumped by the bride in the worst way possible. Her twitter appeal to the American airline, JetBlue Airways has become the talk among the tweeple!
As special as weddings are, it always intends to be a melodramatic affair somehow. The fired bridesmaid, Courtney Duffy, whose Twitter bio lists her as an MBA student managed to up the drama quotient of her friend’s nuptial ceremony significantly with a single tweet. She booked a cross-country flight for a wedding but being disinvited; she requested the airline precisely to refund her ticket. Courtney even included the horrifying email that she had received the day before she takes off for the wedding.
Courtney’s tweet seeking help from JetBlue Airways.
SOS @JetBlue! Booked my X-C flights for a wedding, then was asked "to relinquish" my "duties as a bridesmaid" & mail my bridesmaid outfit X-C so another girl could fill in and wear it (Happy bday to me!) I am laughing & crying & must avoid this wedding at all costs. Pls help? pic.twitter.com/OrZUptt34w

As you read it, the attached email was received from Alex requesting Courtney to step down from the bridesmaid position because she will not be able to attend the full ceremony due to a school conflict. Worst! If you can see, Alex went on asking to mail back her bridesmaid jumpsuit so that a replacement friend could wear it.
Thankfully, JetBlue Airways were quick to respond!
Yikes! Send us your confirmation code via DM. We're happy to go over option with you. https://t.co/xSmyP7Lfyg

Meanwhile, the bridesmaid wearing jumpsuits instead of dresses got dragged in with the more caustic comments.
Jumpsuit for a bridesmaid dress? You may be thankful you'll never be photographed wearing it. I think you should plan a big party back here and pointedly don't invite the bride and her unfortunate mate.

Our Twitterati encouraged her to dump her so-called friend and take a vacation instead.
Please transfer this ticket to a beach location, and send the bride a picture of you swimming in the ocean in the jumpsuit.

Surprisingly, JetBlue went a step ahead and offered a treat to Courtney and her friend Alex!
Hey Courtney, we’ve been thinking. The jumpsuit may have been borrowed, but we’ll bring the (Jet)Blue. When you’re ready to patch things up, we’d like to help make your old friendship feel like new. A future girls’ weekend is on us!

Some people say it right that Brides should choose their Bridesmaid carefully from the beginning and accept a little less. After all, they are human too! It is understandable that marriage comes with a lot of responsibilities and to avoid getting cold feet is why the brides need best friends by their side on the big day. But in this case, we feel that before purchasing any jumpsuits, both Alex and Courtney could have discussed their expectations for the ceremony.
