Mumbaikars are badly hit due to an indefinite strike called in by Ola and Uber drivers but one Bangalorean dude actually scheduled a cab ride to the foreign shores. Do not rub your eyes in disbelief as the city guy named Rohit Menda booked an Ola cab from Bangalore to North Korea (Yes, 'Supreme Leader' Kim Jong-un's Land!) What a fancy travel destination to visit, Rohit. A technical glitch resulted in Twitter user to book a ride from Bangalore to South Pyongan in North Korea. The app-based taxi aggregator not only provided him the driver detail but also charged him a whopping 1.49 lakh rupees bill as one can see in the screenshots shared by the enthusiastic the guy, who simply could not stop taking a potshot at Ola Cabs.

On Sunday, Rohit shared a screenshot of his ‘scheduled’ trip to North Korea, one of the most feared lands on the planet. The ride details included the departure date to be March 18 at 12.15 am from Bangalore, Karnataka India to Unnamed Road, South Pyongan, North Korea and be back on March 23 at 12.15 am. The five-day round trip of about 13840 km was billed Rs 149088, charging Rs 10 per km. The shocked man tweeted, “How is this possible @Olacabs a trip to North Korea? Please check your systems.”

The app-based cab service provider, Ola without wasting much time replied to Rohit’s tweet. However, their reply lacked conviction that further made them look like a pauper. They replied writing, “This seems to be a technical glitch. Please restart the phone and try again.” But it was not just Rohit who received the Trip-to-North Korea cab confirmation from Ola but to a whole bunch of other users. They started posting their screenshots to bring the matter to the cab company’s attention.

A Cab Ride to North Korea?! Made it Easy by Ola Cabs

Technical Glitch Better Than Bumpy Ride to North Korea

Another Twitter user named Arunchandra C shared the screenshot where Ola Cabs had apparently confirmed booking a cab ride from Banjara Layout Main Road, Horamavu Agara, to South Pyongan, North Korea. He was given a prime sedan and Rs 161905, excluding free wi-fi for the trip!

Everyone in Bangalore, Pack Your Bags for North Korea

The original complainant, Rohit was quick to point out the situation to Ola Cabs by writing, “It's happening to all phones @Olacabs. I think you need to fix your system. Not our phones :)” To this the cab company had nothing much to reply except biting the dust. They informed the amused customers of forwarding the matter to relevant team. They wrote, “We have forwarded this to the relevant team to further look into this. We strive to serve you better.” Well, this was the end of another quirk-filled day in the functioning of Ola Cabs.

He is Not Buying Any of Ola's (Genuine) Excuses

Case Closed as Matter is Directed to Relevant Team

Meanwhile, the drivers of Ola and Uber have joined hands to continue an indefinite strike in the city of Mumbai and joined in by drivers from drivers in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune. It is called by the Maharashtra Navnirman Vahtuk Sena, the transport wing of the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), that claims drivers of these cabs of not being able to cover costs due to the falling business in Mumbai. They have announced to continue their strike till policies and decisions are taken in their betterment.
