Bogota Police Rescue Bride, Groom From Flooded Car on Their Wedding Day; Watch Video

In a recent episode, a New Jersey pair got trapped in their vehicle on their wedding day due to quickly rising floodwaters.

Alright! There is a lot of drama happening already on the wedding day. The nuptial ceremony is said to be the most amazing days in everyone’s life that one will want to remember forever—for all the right reasons. But there often appears instances which barely anyone expects that adds up to the already stressful environment for the bride and the groom’s. In a recent episode, a New Jersey pair got trapped in their vehicle on their wedding day due to quickly rising floodwaters. On August 11, severe storms and torrential downpours swept across northern New Jersey. Answering to one such call for help, the Bogota Police Department received from the newly-minted bride and groom who was trapped in a car after rising flood waters at an intersection in Bergen County, New Jersey. The police department shared the video of the rescue operation on their Facebook post. It could be seen, Bogota officer Michael Laferrera climbing out of the Humvee to stand on the roof of the police vehicle. The bride in her wedding dress and white shoes trying to come out through limo’s sunroof. Eventually, the bride was helped by the cop to the roof of the Humvee and into the police vehicle.

The department proudly boasted as the bride throughout her ordeal, remained dry!

While the couple may have adventures in mind, one thing is for sure that they will never forget their wedding day. The above incident is another several weather-related incidents that the region faced on Saturday. In fact, the National Weather Service New York had issued a flood advisory at the time for Bogota. The police officials appeared in the headlines for rescuing many people, and the floodwaters were sending the cars on the other side of the highways risking lives.
