The 144th running of the Preakness Stakes took place Saturday, May 18, 2019, and War of Will was declared the winner of the race. However, social media seems to have given its heart to Bodexpress, the jockey-less horse that ran through the race but was unable to win for obvious reasons. Bodexpress, decided to run the race without a jockey after a little hustle as the beginning of the race wherein its jockey fell off right before the race began. John Velazquez, Bodexpress' jockey, unfortunately, fell off the horse right at the gate, but it didn't let that stop him from running the race anyway over a 20-to-1 shot to win the Preakness. Velazquez fell down but wasn’t hurt and the jockey told NBCSN "He wasn’t behaving well in the gate. He got me against the wall. Obviously, when the doors opened…I lost my balance, and went off. I’m disappointed." Bodexpress may have lost the race, but definitely won a million hearts on social media. Race Champion Horse Winx Wins 'Australian of The Year 2018' Award.

Wait, wut?
Glad John Velazquez is ok, but if Bodexpress won the Preakness running by himself that would've been wild. A horse running by itself winning- would they have interviewed the horse? Would jockeys and trainers become obsolete?

Yes
Btw, what’s this “did not finish” stuff? I finished better then some other horses I could name with jockeys! #Preakness #PreaknessStakes

Ummm
It’s official. I must see a full field of rider-less horses. We all know it would be better.

Yup
By my count, 2 horses WITH jockeys were beat by this rider-less horse. Those 2 jockeys were immediately destroyed after the race. @MGolicJR57 @JOEL9ONE

What?!
If the track staff hadn’t herded him to the back of the pack he could’ve pulled it off

Many people were also calling out PETA for calling it animal abuse and said that the horse "was trained to do" what he did. Nevertheless, Bodexpress did win a lot of hearts on
