Lucknow, March 6:  On Wednesday, BJP MP Sharad Tripathi beat his own party MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel with shoes. The whole incident was caught on live camera. The incident took place in UP's Sant Kabir Nagar in the office of collectorate during a district planning committee meeting. Sant Kabir Nagar BJP MP Sharad Tripathi took out his shoes and started beating MLA Rakesh Baghel after the heated exchange. All this happened even as the video was getting recorded live. The whole incident was caught on camera.

A number of politicians and officials were present in the hall while the incident happened. MP from Dhanghata Shriram Chauhan, minister Ashutosh Tandon and DM Ravish Kumar Gupta were present in the meeting. The two BJP legislators were finally separated by the ministers and the DM.

According to updates, after the incident MP Sharad Tripathi locked himself in a room whereas MLA Singh and his supporters refused to move from the hall. The DM and other officials are still trying to diffuse the tension, said reports.

A ruckus broke out between the supporters of BJP MP Sharad Tripathi and supporters of BJP MLA Rakesh Baghel outside the collector's hall, where the incident took place. Speaking on his brawl with BJP MLA Rakesh Baghel, said that, "I regret the incident and feel bad about it, what happened was against my normal behaviour. If I am summoned by state chief then will put my point across."
