Politicians across party lines are habitual of making outrageous remarks and claims during their speeches or at public meetings. In a recent goof-up, the Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, made a blooper while talking about the Indian classic – Mahabharata. Addressing to a Public Distribution Workshop (PDS) workshop, he said, “This country (India) is a country where Sanjay was narrating the entire scenes of Mahabharata war, to his king Dhritarashtra. What does it mean? It means that there was technology, internet and satellite at that time.”

The claim did not go down well with some social media users, as they took to micro-blogging site Twitter, to express their displeasure. The comment was blown out of proportion, and in no time there were funny memes and picture messages going viral on the Internet. We take a look at some of the hilarious funny messages about Tripura CM Biplab Deb’s comment on Indian classic – Mahabharata.

Whether the comment was misinterpreted or taken out of context is for the minister to clarify. However, before the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could get into any damage control mode, the damage was already done. There were memes and funny picture messages already going viral. The foot-in-mouth comment only adds to the list of outrageous remarks made previously by politicians over the years!
