He points out major contributors to the greenhouse gases that includes transportation, agriculture, electricity, building operations among others. In a co-authored letter, he says that we need "breakthrough solutions" to tackle these issues.
Gates says how the number of buildings in the world is going to double by 2060. "It's like we will build a new New York City every month for the next 40 years," he says. Talking about the solutions we are opting to tackle the issue, he continues, "Hey, aren't we getting the solar panels and windmills to be a lot less expensive, and isnāt that helping reduce greenhouse gases? And the answer is absolutelyĀ (yes). But there is a lot more to do than just taking electricity to zero emissions. There's a variety of things that generate greenhouse gases." In a co-authored letter, he writes, "Manufacturing isn't the only big emitter. Agriculture accounts for 24 percent of greenhouse gases. That includes cattle, which give off methane when they belch and pass gas.
