Bihar Girl Refuses to Marry Groom After His Strange Behaviour Due to Lightening

Marriages getting cancelled at the last moment is not something unheard of. And in a country like ours, even the strangest reasons are possible. Now an incident from Bihar has come to light where a lightening itself is responsible for annulment of marriage. A bride in Saran district of Bihar has refused to marry her groom after his behaviour changed post a lightning strike.
The police have said that it caused huge fights between the two families. Jyoti Raut (name changed) of Chitrsenpur village refused to marry her groom when he said that he is afraid of lightning. The guy also behaved very differently when there was a lightening strike in the field near their house about two days ago. The groom's family was not at all pleased as some of the marriage rituals had already been done. On their protest, even the bride's side were in support of her. So it grew into a bigger fight between the families. A police officer was quoted, "After (the) lightning (strike), the groom behaved as he was afraid of it. The bride publicly announced she would not marry him, citing his unusual behaviour."

Some girls, however, have even rejected the guys based on their complexion and height. But this is the first time such a weird reason has been given to cancel a marriage.
