Students who had appeared for exams from the Agra University had lost their patience waiting for results when it was finally announced. After the long wait, students of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University received marks more than they had expected, quite literally. To their utter shock, results showed marks such as '70 out of 50'. The University claimed to have declared results of 70 courses out of the total 86 till Friday.

Similarly, the results of Class 12  Bihar School Board Examination students showed marks more than the total. Some received 36 while others 38 out of 35 in the exams.

More than 1.5 lakh students hadn't received their results by June 15. The deadline for remaining results had been extended by 15 days. Reportedly, 5.86 lakh students were eligible to appear for the main examination conducted earlier this year. The university then announced results of around 70 courses on the website.

Pictures of the errors in mark sheets were widely shared on social media platforms. Students also complained that some of the results declared were incomplete. While many others had discrepancies related to the student's name or their parent's name in the mark sheet. According to a report in The Times of India, BSc part 1 student Bharti Verma got 70 marks out of 50 while Nisha Prajapati said she received 68 marks and Anjali Dhaked got 67 marks.

University public relations officer GS Sharma said, "Cases of errors in results have surfaced. Some of them have been corrected. All such cases will be sorted out in a time-bound manner."

The report quoted former National Students Union of India general secretary Amit Singh as saying, "Following lack of proper management, the university administration is declaring results in haste. University officials want to somehow close the session to avoid any questioning from university chancellor (governor of Uttar Pradesh) Ram Naik. In several courses, only 20-30% of students have received their results. A large number of results declared have errors in them. Now students will be forced to pay for correction of these errors."
