Bhangra; the stress-reliever and traditional folk dance of Punjab is being loved by many. People from all across the country while their visit in India, tries to impress us matching steps to bhangra beats. Much like Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who wooed us with his bhangra moves when he visited India in February. But two potential prime ministerial candidates of Canada are making headlines with enthusiastically shaking the legs during their bhangra face off. With that zeal, they performed remarkably well and amidst to the loud clap and cheer; the video went viral.
Jagmeet Singh, leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP) and Navdeep Bains, minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, showcased their talent during the battle for bhangra. They were presenting their dance moves to the beats of the Punjabi dance at a fundraising event which was organised by Seva Food Bank, a service run by Canadian Sikhs to provide food security to low-income families.

Jagmeet Singh won the internet in 2017, when he was interrupted by a racist woman at an event and people praised as he calmly handled the situation. Both Jagmeet and Navdeep at present are famous Sikh political figures in Canada. The Bhangra face off in the event was a promised affair to achieve a total of Rs. 26 lakhs in donations. And it was not surprise that because of their super charged moves, the charity event collected over Rs. 31 lakhs for their cause.
