Born with a hearing disability, Archana had to face several problems during her growing up years. With the help of an aid, she can hear up to a certain extent. During her journey, she was accompanied by her friend and colleague Daniel Sundaram, a geography teacher. They began their trip on April 29 and reached Freedom Park on May 29.
Talking about her journey, she told The Times of India, "I started riding at 21 and haven’t looked back since. The aim of this tour — Journey to Inspire — was to motivate the hearing impaired and encourage more women to ride bikes."
Here are pictures from her bike trip:
Archana rode a Royal Enfield, while Daniel was on KTM bike. Along with Daniel, she has also found a community, Silent Expedition for bikers with focus on those disabilities. Archana's family also proud of her achievement. Her mother Mahalakshmi told TOI, "We were not scared at all. Archana made video calls to us every day and shared her location live so we knew where she was. I am extremely proud of her."
