The massive fire that broke out on the upper floors of the BeauMonde Towers in Mumbai's Prabhadevi on Wednesday gutted several apartments. As many as 95 people were safely evacuated from the building as soon as the fire alarm went off. Fire personnel had a tough time dousing the fire initially as they could not reach the 33rd floor. Days after the incident, pictures have emerged showing the devastated state of rooms where fire charred everything.
In a tweet, businessman Harsh Goenka shared pictures of an apartment in the high-rise where everything in the rooms has been burnt down, except a Ganpati idol. The RPG Enterprises Chairman tweeted the pictures with the caption, "BeauMonde fire at Prabhadevi, Mumbai destroys the entire apartment except..."

The fire which was earlier characterised as Level-2 turned to the Level-3 category in no time. As many as twenty fire tenders, two quick response vehicles, five water tankers and two ambulances reached the site as the fire became uncontrollable. Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone owns a flat on the 26ths floor of the building. Following the incident, she took to Twitter informing people of her well-being. She tweeted saying, "I am safe. Thank You, everyone. Let us pray for our firefighters who are at site risking their lives."
Two firemen were hospitalised after being injured in the major blaze. with complaints of suffocation. Their condition was later stated to be stable. Fire officials said that after the blaze broke out on the 32nd floor of the building's B-wing around 2.10 pm, it spread to the top storey and the one below. It was brought under control post 6 pm.
