BBC Presenter Mike Bushell Falls Into Pool During Live Commonwealth Games Interview, Video Goes Viral
Bushell seems to have missed a step and slipped while lowering himself into the pool.
BBC presenter Mike Bushell had no idea what was awaiting him when he stepped into a swimming pool during a live telecast this morning. Bushell was preparing to interview the England Commonwealth Games swimmers when he fell into the pool drenching himself completely. Sitting on the edge of the pool were swimmers Sarah Vasey, Adam Peaty, Siobhan-Marie O'Connor, Ben Proud and James who couldn't stop themselves from laughing. Bushell seems to have missed a step and slipped while lowering himself into the pool. And it is not just the athletes who had a laughter riot, but viewers too.
As Bushell got out of the water, he said, "I'm going to be careful because I've got a sound pack on." Twitter was soon filled in with hilarious reactions to the incident. A video that would be otherwise missed for a regular interview soon got viral with social media users sharing it.
Here is the video of BBC presenter Mike Bushell that is going viral:
In the BBC Breakfast studio, the presenters Charlie Stayt and Louise Minchin also took a moment talk about the funny moment. The Guardian reported Stayt as saying, "Mike is carrying on talking but we can't hear him, because a moment ago Mike fell in the water, his pack went in, and he doesn't know we can't hear him now. Bye, Mike, it hasn't been dull."
While Minchin said, "If you were going to set that up, you would imagine that might happen, and it did – live on national television. Mike fell in the pool." Bushell later said, "I just thought it was a little Jacuzzi or a kids' pool. I didn't realise there was a step there." Earlier last year, a hilarious video of kids interrupting their father's interview on BBC has gone massively viral. The children who became popular even got their own animated TV series.
