Richie Gilbert, from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 was called to a home in Elimbah, north of Brisbane. Soon as he reached, he spotted the mammoth reptile, slithering at the garage. After a few minutes of rearranging the furniture in the shed, Gilbert finally caught the giant snake. The Sunshine Coast snake catcher filmed the moment he found the deadly snake. “That’s a chunky brown snake,” he can be heard saying in the video. In another Facebook post, the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 stated that the massive eastern brown snake measured in at about 2.05 metre. “That’s as big as I have ever caught within the Sunshine Coast and Northern Brisbane regions in the 15 years I have been relocating around these parts,” writes Gilbert in the post.
The eastern brown snakes are popular as fast-moving, aggressive and their bad tempers. They are dangerous and reportedly responsible for more deaths every year in Australia than any other group of snakes. Their venom is ranked as the second most toxic of any land snake in the world.
