Australian Farmer Finds Huge Egg in His Farm, Cracks Open to Find Another Egg Inside And Now Pictures Are Viral
The egg was three times a normal one.
A big egg laid by a chicken at Stockman's Eggs on the Atherton Tablelands, west of Cairns, in far north Queensland is going viral. Farmer Scott Stockman from Australia never thought he is going to be in the news for an egg that one of his chicken lays. But the size of the babushka egg that weighs 176 grams, three times bigger than the size of normal eggs has baffled not just the internet but the poultry experts too. What further surprised everyone is the that the large chicken eggs contain another fully-formed egg.
Daily Mail Australia quoted Stockman as saying, "It's a complete freak of nature and very rare to see an egg inside of another. We did gather the staff around when we cracked it but I was kind of hoping to see four yolks." He said that they gathered all staff around while cracking the egg hoping to see four yolks, but there was a better surprise. Stockham said that there are over 3000 hens and it would be nearly impossible to identify the responsible chicken. It was Zippy, their egg collector who first found the egg. She said that she has neve seen anything like this before. While, in the past, they have had eggs weighing 140 grams, an egg as gigantic as this one is for the first time.
Here are the pictures:
Scott Stockman runs the family farm with this father. When asked about the massive egg, he said he asked a few experts and it was most likely "just a freak of nature". He added saying, "The experts say (the hen) must have been really well looked after and well fed." Stockman's farm was started in 1923 by his grandfather and produces up to 45,000 eggs a day. In the recent past, videos of a similar egg being cracked up to find a smaller egg inside had gone viral on social media.
