Back in his time, the admirers kept asking him for the construction of a temple in order to promote the Hindi language. But Vajpayee was unwilling and kept denying the requests. He finally gave in on two conditions- that it would be a small construction and it would not keep any idol of himself. Finally, in the year 2005, a small temple was constructed at the Satyanarayan ki Tekari. The locals were more than happy to build a tribute to the former prime minister. They kept just a picture of him inside the premises.
