The demise of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee saddened the entire nation. Political leaders from not just our country but neighbouring countries too offered their condolences at the funeral. The entire nation mourns his death and no doubt he was a great leader and orator. But other than his flawless political policies, Vajpayee was a great poet and an inspiration to many. The ex-PM had so many admirers that in his hometown Gwalior, a temple is constructed in his name. Back in his time, the admirers kept asking him for the construction of a temple in order to promote the Hindi language. But Vajpayee was unwilling and kept denying the requests. He finally gave in on two conditions- that it would be a small construction and it would not keep any idol of himself. Finally, in the year 2005, a small temple was constructed at the Satyanarayan ki Tekari. The locals were more than happy to build a tribute to the former prime minister. They kept just a picture of him inside the premises.

Vajpayee was fond of poetry since childhood and he took part in many similar conventions from his young age. His poems and oratory skills have impressed the nation. Talking about it, a veteran poet Naseem Rafat told HT, "Many young poets get inspiration from the temple but we want the government to build a memorial to him. We worship him daily and chant his poems."
