Guwahati, January 20: In a scene inspired by a Bollywood movie, a 70-year-old woman from Assam was reunited with her daughter after four decades. The incident surfaced from Nagarbera area in Assam's Kamrup district. According to a report published in India Today, Nagabera Revenue Circle Officer received a call of a woman, who identified herself as Shahiton Nesa, claimed that she had gone missing 40 years ago. According to Nesa, Khatun was her mother. Revenue Circle Officer Dhrubajyoti Das then traced Khatun. Das termed it as a “miracle.

“Shahiton found my phone number on the Internet and told me about her mother. When I established contact with Hajera Khatun, she narrated the same story. According to the report, Khatun’s daughter had gone missing in Guwahati when she left home one day to look for work. The mother searched for her daughter for many years but was unable to trace her. Nesa, now Asha Devi, told the media house that after she went missing in Guwahati, a man brought her to Bihar, where they both tied a knot. Nesa now resides at Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. She has three sons.
