It was a move unforeseen by her colleagues. So, one of her colleagues, Marcos Heredia, took a picture of her breastfeeding and posted it on Facebook. The post has been shared over 112,000 times till now.
In the post, he wrote, "I want to make public this great gesture of love that you had today with that little baby." The incident which took place on August 14 was coincidentally the 'National Day of the Female Officers' in Argentina.
The Buenos Aires Provincial Police, while speaking to CNN, confirmed that Ayala spoke to the hospital authorities before breastfeeding the baby. Interestingly, the baby was recently separated from her mother. The reason for which is not known as of yet. Following this rare gesture, Ayala is now promoted to the rank of an officer.
