The Harvard Lampoon, a campus satirical magazine has apologised for publishing a sexualised photo of Anne Frank, known for maintaining a diary while in hiding with her family during World War II. The long-running magazine photoshopped Anne to depict her face on the body of a bikini-wearing woman. The headline along with the image which appeared in Sunday's edition read, "Gone Before Her Time: Virtual Aging Technology Shows Us What Anne Frank Would Have Looked Like if She Hadn't Died." The image let to an outcry on Harvard's campus with students and professors equally demanding accountability for the incident. The satirical publication which was established in 1976 is run by students. As criticisms continue, a petition was filed on Change.org demanding apology from those responsible for the depiction of the public figure. The German-born Jewish girl hid in an attic with her family and other acquaintances during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. Anne Frank gained game posthumously after her diary was converted into a book titled 'The Diary of a Young Girl'. Anne Frank in her diary wrote her day-to-day activities living inside a small place behind her father's office. She mentions her dreams, aspirations and how living in an attic made her feel like a "canary in a cage". The book ends abruptly as their hiding was busted and she along with her family members were held. Anne Frank and her sister died in a concentration camp. Her father Otto Frank lived through the Holocaust and published Anne's diary after her death. Anne Frank is perhaps the most famous victim of the Holocaust.
