Mumbai, September 7: Amul recently is facing huge fire for social media rumours that are doing the rounds that say that the company products are made from animal fat. To put all the rumours to rest, Amul has released ads on paper and a video ad with their MD RS Sodhi negating the accusations and clarifying any issues regarding the same. Is Aashirvaad Atta Safe? According to the print ad, "The emulsifier we use is purely derived from 100 percent vegetarian source only. Baseless rumours are being spread about E-407 and E-412, stabilizers in Amul Ice Cream is being made from animal fat. Let us reassure you that both these stabilizers are from plant and seaweed origin. Moreover, all Amul product packs carry a veg logo, which provides a warranty and our guarantee to our esteemed customers that our products are 100 percent vegetarian, in accordance with the mandate of FSSAI."

The ad further clarified that all Amul products are halal certified and are being exported to the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) countries since the last 2 decades.

In 2014, there was a huge controversy after a user took to social media to report a complaint about Amul milk quality. It created a huge storm and the brand was quick to respond after they found out that the user who had complained about the brand on social media used an expired product.
