According to several Twitter users, fear and panic spread in Lahore after rumours spread that the ring-like thing would be something related to an alien. The video of the black ring went viral on social media.

According to several locals, the black ring was believed to be a bad omen while some stated that the ring flying in the air in open sky over Lahore was a sign of trouble for them. The black ring rotating in the shape of zero has caused discussion and panic among the people of Lahore. According to a report by Aaj Tak, a similar incident was reported from Kazakhstan village in Pakistan in 2015. The report stated that a school girl had seen one such black ring following which an investigation was launched in which it was found that it was made from fireworks in a village.
