A passenger in Air New Zealand plane was thrown out of a flight as she refused to read the safety instructions card. She was escorted out of the aircraft as she did not agree to watch the inflight safety video. The woman who was described by other passengers as "wealthy-looking" was sitting in the exit row and ignored the safety instructions. The incident happened on flight NZ424 to Auckland on Tuesday. Stuff quoted a witness as saying, "A flight attendant said very patiently 'Can you please watch what's happening because this is the exit row?' The flight attendant was super kind and kept asking her, but the woman put her fingers in her ears." However, she refused to cause a delay in the flight's take-off. Other passengers also requested the woman and her partner to pay attention, but they did not comply. Eventually, the plane was forced to return to the gate. Air New Zealand said they the delay was caused as a passenger "failed to comply with crew instructions". A police spokesperson confirmed with Newshub that they had responded to a request on flight NZ424. Police said, "The passenger will receive an infringement notice under Civil Aviation Authority rules relating to the use of a cellphone." Meanwhile, a passenger said that Air New Zealand plane should change its inflight videos if it really wants travellers to pay attention. The flight's safety video has caused controversy in the past to lead to its removal six months after its release. The inflight instructions are in the form of a rap. Reportedly, its lyrics go "Business premier, I see you folks are working / Sit upright, hands on thighs, feet to floor / It's just like twerking!" New Zealand First MP Shane Jones had termed the video "cringe" which confuses people.
