Air India's Flight From Birmingham to Amritsar Welcomed Passengers With a Dhol Performance, Watch Video
Passengers who were flying from Britain to India had a special performance to welcome them.
To celebrate a direct flight going to Amritsar from Birmingham, the passengers in Air India flight were in for definitely a homely surprise. Passengers who were flying from Britain to India had a special performance to welcome them. There was a special band playing dhol and doing a jig, the typical Bhangra steps along with. Needless to say, the passengers were all enthusiastic about receiving such an amazing send-off!
The group of musicians called Dhol Blasters, literally got the atmosphere blasting in the flight before the take-off. The reason for this welcome was, it is the only direct flight which connects UK to the Sikh capital, Amritsar. Air India will fly twice-a-week on Tuesday and Thursday with a Boeing 787 aircraft. "The terminal came alive (on Tuesday) with Indian drummers and dancers weaving their way through passengers who were joined by Members of Parliament, business leaders and members of the Sikh UK community," said officials from Birmingham Airport in a statement.
The video of this performance has been going viral on the internet and those who were not a part of this, are definitely missing their presence there. It is naturally winning appreciation from everyone. Staying true to the element of Bhangra, the dhol players are seen in traditional Punjabi outfits and also have a turban. As the video progresses, you see the enthusiasm of the dhol players also rising!
